We're Here in Beijing - The New Blog

A new blog is born....

Not my first and probably not my last!

This is the "We're in Beijing" blog. Check out the life and times a a Canadian/Japanese family living and working in Beijing, China.

After nearly 10 years living, working, playing and enjoying life in Kobe, Japan, we made the decision to pack up and move to China's capital city.

Delivery vehicle whizzes past us as we wait for a downtown bus.

Why did we do this? There were many reasons, but the main one was a professional move. As an international school teacher, I was simply offered a position I couldn't turn down. It certainly wasn't an easy decision, but we made it as a family. It was certainly not easy to leave Kobe since we all loved it so much, but there is always a chance we may end up there again in a few years from now.

This blog will be about the day-to-day lives of my family and myself.

I'm certainly no stranger to social media, but haven't been much of a blogger in some time.

I hope that this blog will be able to help out other expats planning to move to Beijing and other families in a similar situation to my own.

When researching our move hear it wasn't so easy to find good informations for expat families. Most people who are foreigners here blogging are single and simply have a different perspective on the "Beijing Experience."

This blog won't be about anything political or controversial. It will simply be about or experiences!

We have only been here for a few week so know very little, but as we grow to know more about Beijing, we'll share it here.
